Keep Our Community On the Water

At our sailing school, our mission is simple: keep tuition affordable so anyone can learn to sail. However, the "hidden" costs of running a fleet are significant.

To keep our programs accessible, we rely on your support to cover the essential fixed costs that tuition doesn't reach:

Fleet Care: Essential boat repairs, engine servicing, and sail replacements.
Operations: The seasonal setting and removing of moorings.
Our Crew: Fair wages for the expert instructors who keep our students safe.

Your donation keeps our tuition low and our fleet shipshape. Help us ensure that the joy of sailing remains open to everyone in our community.

NYC Sailing School

The NYC Sailing School is an important part of the summer for many of our Bayside families. Students learn the basics of sailing in the classroom and while training in our fleet of Daysailers, 420's and Sonars.

Admission will be prioritized for NYC families, returning students, siblings of sailing school alums, and students who will be sailing for the entire six weeks. In order to gauge interest in the program and make admission decisions, we ask all interested families to fill out our Interest Survey by May 15. We will contact accepted families via email with program details, registration forms, and payment information by mid-June. All registrations will take place online.

A detailed waitlist will be kept of all interested students, and our Sailing Director will be in touch via email or phone if spaces open up over the summer. For those students who cannot sail with the school this summer, there will be ample opportunities for private lessons.

For the 2026 season the Sailing School will be held the weeks of June 28th, July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and August 3rd.

Fees for the 2026 season are $175 weekly for member, $200 for non-member families. Scholarships are available, please contact Gordon Fuller for details.
